Message: Authenticity

REVIEW:

READ 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Humans are naturally wired to avoid Vulnerability. Instead of bringing our most authentic self to the table, we try to cover ourselves up and project the perfect image to the world.

Have you ever, "Put Yourself Out There" and been rejected? How did this make you feel?

(Maybe it was asking someone out, trying to help someone in need, or any other situation where your vulnerability was met with shame or ridicule.)

What are ways in your life that you have avoided vulnerability?

Some people we power up and try to be the loudest in the room

Others shut down and go into their shell

Many people play the victim and assume things will go wrong before they ever have

Maybe you have tried to buy enough things to distract from your vulnerable spots

What could each of you do in your life team to foster an environment that allows for maximum authenticity?

APPLY:

To fully live the life God has given us, we have to find the courage to be vulnerable and realize that it is in our weakness that God's glory is displayed the brightest.

What is one area of your life that you have not brought your most Authentic self to the table?

This week, each Life Team Member commit to one way that you will practice Authenticity in your life.

PRAY:

We live in a world that does it's best to convince us to fit in and show off. The message of boasting in our weakness flies directly in the face of our culture. Spend some time praying that your Team would have the perspective to live a Vulnerable life. Commit to praying for each other throughout the week and creating an environment in your Team where Authenticity can thrive!
