Message: Where Does it Go?
REVIEW:
This week we looked at where the money given to MetaChurch actually goes. Transparency is something that is so important to the health of the organized Movement, and Pastor Clayton and the staff want to live above reproach when it comes to stewarding what is given!
Along the way we learned that, because of your generosity, MetaChurch has been able to stand in the gap for other non-profits who were needing help. When "The Vault", a resource center for fostering/adopting parents, had a crisis and were in jeopardy of being forced out of their building Meta moved in and gave what they needed. Recently, Together for Haiti saw an opportunity to start a Haitian-run drilling company that would provide fresh water to villages in need. Just a few days before the fundraising deadline, Meta gave enough money for them to buy the drilling rig and start the company.
The important takeaway is that when Meta Gives, YOU GIVE!
At MetaChurch, we want to be know for our sacrificial generosity. Do you feel like your personal life is marked by that same quality?
What is the greatest act of generosity you have seen in your life? What did seeing that do to you? How did it make you feel?
As an organization, Meta felt responsible to answer the question: "Where Does it Go?"
How would you answer this question in your own life?
APPLY:
As a team, discuss some ways that you could each increase your own personal generosity. This could be giving time, energy, or resources away to help push forward the Movement of Jesus.
Each person commit to ONE way you will work to be more generous this week.
PRAY:
Spend some time thanking God for all he is doing through our Church. Ask him to increase our collective generosity and to show us opportunities to give away our time, energy, and resources. Pray for our strategic partners and other ministries in town.
