REVIEW:
This week we learned about the power of Accountability.
As a part of the Movement of Jesus, we are called to both carry our own load, (practice our purpose and live for Jesus), as well as helping carry each others burdens, (shouldering the weight of what hinders the people around you from living their best life).
When has someone made a difference in your life by helping "carry your burden"?
What practical affect did this have on you?
What emotions did you feel?
In Galatians chapter 6, Paul describes 3 levels of accountability:
-Personal
-Communal
-Eternal
All 3 of these work together and are essential to maximizing our movement.
Which of these 3 do you struggle with the most? (Perhaps you are good at holding others accountable but struggle with discipline in your own life. Maybe you rarely think about the Judgment seat of Christ and lose motivation to live your best life today?
APPLY:
Now that we understand how crucial accountability is, how will you begin to display it in your own life and the community you are in?
Remember, we are called to do this with the upmost gentleness!
What is one way you can increase your accountability this week?
-Finally have the hard conversation you have been putting off
-Get honest with yourself about your emotional, mental, relational or physical health
-Wake up every day and meditate on the moment you stand before Jesus
-etc
PRAY:
Take some time to pray that your Team will be bold and loving in helping each other live out the call of Jesus in their lives. Ask God to continue to show you the areas where you need accountability and ways to apply accountability to your life.
