Genesis 23: Friends

When Sarah died at age 127, she had been blessed not only to give birth at 90, but to see her son Isaac become a man. Abraham negotiated with his Canaanite neighbors to buy a cave to bury Sarah. When they finished their negotiation, his neighbor Ephron said, “What is that (400 pieces of silver) between friends?” (v. 15). It’s evident that for decades Abraham had blessed his neighbors even as God blessed him. That’s how you develop and keep friendships—bless them.
