Genesis 18:1-15 Too Hard For God

The Lord appeared to Abraham one day along with two people. At first Abraham thought they were simply three men traveling through the area, but we find out later that one was the Lord and the other two angels. Abraham and Sarah prepared a meal for them. After they ate, one of them predicted that within one year, Sarah would have a son. Sarah overheard the prediction from their tent and laughed to herself saying, “How could an old woman like me enjoy such a pleasure?” (v. 12). The Lord responded to Sarah’s desperate laugh with another question: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (v. 14). Abraham and Sarah’s lives answer this provoking question. Their lives serve as a testimony that God can and does fulfill his promises, even if they seem impossible and even if we have to wait for a miracle. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. Nothing. Trust him and wait.
