Genesis 9 The Rainbow

What about the rainbow? If you go back to 1:6-7 and 7:11, those verses describe the waters above the earth and the underground waters below. One theory is that the waters above functioned like a “water canopy” which created a greenhouse effect on the earth. Such a canopy would also have shielded people from radiation, the primary cause of aging and ultimate death. If such a water canopy did exist and fell to the earth, it could explain what happened to the dinosaurs. A collapsed water canopy would have allowed light to shine through rain clouds creating rainbows, whereas before the canopy would have shielded the direct sunlight. Also, people before the flood even lived for hundreds of years according to the lineage lists. But after the flood, people quickly lived fewer and fewer years until they lived about the same length of time we do today. Ancient people could not have known the science behind this change of lifespan. But now we do. Pretty cool.
